Two homes in one

-

Ross Moller and Vanessa Robinson from LJ Hooker Edge Hill sold 28 Oleander Dr, Yungaburra, for $1.2 million. The house incorporates two homes in one. With an emphasis on lifestyle, the two levels, complete with their own kitchens and bathrooms, make it ideal for guests, or a bed and breakfast situation. There are three bedrooms, both up and down, multiple living areas and external entertainment zones. A SLICE of the Cairns North Esplanade is for sale but be quick – expressions of interest are due to end next month.

The freehold property with eight bedrooms and two kitchens has been listed by Cairns agent Nicholas Slatyer.

“The owners built the house for themselves (in 2004),” Mr Slatyer said.

“The floor plan is very flexible, offering lots of room for large families with living rooms both up and down, two kitchens and two laundries.

“The house can be lived in as one home, or configured in a few different ways – occupied and rented downstairs or rented up and down separately.

“Alternatively, the house would make an excellent holiday rental if owners wanted an income.”

The agent said The Esplanade was one of the most tightly-held locations in Cairns and freehold lots were rarely available.

“Being so close to the CBD and having the bike paths, walking tracks and amazing views is so hard to find,” he said.

“The owners are downsizing and intending to travel some more.”

The modern house with a sprawling open-plan design boasts unobstructed views, stacker doors, glass balustrade, quality floor coverings and a private in-ground pool.

“I don’t think that a modern home on The Esplanade has ever traded,” Mr Slatyer said.

“Every home built in the last 15 years is still occupied by the owners that built them.

“The most recent comparable sales are the two penthouses we sold in Northshore (about 250m away), which traded in late 2014 for $1.8 million and $1.85 million.

“Both of these properties have since undergone significant, full renovations.”

Interested buyers can submit their offers to Mr Slatyer before July 7.
