A LUXURY home in the hills of City View has been given top honours at a prestigious national housing event, and the people behind the masterpiece have issued a thank-you to Far

North Queensland residents.

In a first for the region, MyStyle Homes won three national awards at the 2020 HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards for best kitchen design, best bathroom design and Australian people’s choice home of the year.

In another first, the awards were held virtually, with the local win announced on Friday, May 29.

MyStyle Homes owners Grant Hartwig and Heather Ghidella have issued a big thank-you to Far North Queensland residents for getting behind the business.

“The HIA Australian People’s Choice Home of the Year award is voted for by the Australian public and we are incredibly grateful to the Far North population for getting behind us and voting,” Mr Hartwig said.

“This award not only belongs to us, but all of Cairns.”

Ms Ghidella said the winning property was an “incredible team effort” between MyStyle Homes, Kim Duffin Design and Pacific Kitchens.

“I am so proud to work with such amazing people and businesses to bring these national awards home,” she said.

“To win two design awards is something I am immensely proud of because clever design is something we’ve been passionate about since the start of MyStyle Homes.

“The clients we help want perfection in their new home, they want a space to enjoy for many years, and some of the smart ideas and design concepts we weave into every home make this happen.

“We build homes of all sizes and budgets, but one thing our clients have in common is that they want something quality and they love the innovative concepts we bring to the table.”

The HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards recognise the best in Australia’s residential building industry. HIA managing director Graham Wolfe said the awards were recognition of members who “excel in building exceptional homes and run highly successful businesses”.

“The award winners have surpassed the highest standards in workmanship and pushed the boundaries with design and innovation,” he said.

Many of the features and details in MyStyle display homes may not be noticeable at first glance. The homes are built to inspire and showcase just what is possible.

“The element we are renowned for is quality, for doing the small things incredibly well,” Ms Ghidella said.

“Grant and I are perfectionists and we have very high expectations of our entire team so we deliver high attention to detail in every home.”

This quality approach and attention to detail has landed MyStyle Homes a total of seven national awards and 80 awards overall, making them the most awarded builder in Cairns.
