YOU will feel like you’ve escaped to your very own tropical oasis living in this exquisite fivebedroom retreat at Port Douglas.

Known as Tugela, this lavish property was custom designed by luxury lifestyle business Molori and is simply perfection for discerning buyers who value peace and tranquillity.

Nestled in the premier Beachfront Mirage Estate, one of the Port Douglas’ most sought after addresses, the property is primely positioned for easy living and relaxation.

The tropical haven offers absolute privacy, while still being in close proximity to everything you could need, with direct access to Four Mile Beach and a two-minute drive to the central shopping and dining hub of Macrossan St.

LJ Hooker Port Douglas salesperson Shane Wight said 31 Beachfront Mirage presented a rare real estate opportunity for high-end buyers.

“Entering past the trifecta of cascading waterfalls, tranquil pond and tropical gardens brings you to the grand entrance featuring retractable wooden and glass doors, windows, floorboards and high ceilings,” he said.

“The home design captures natural light, Coral Sea breezes and the spirit of the tropical surroundings, with retractable floor-to-ceiling doors throughout.”

Mr Wight said the expansive abode was an

“You will also find a separate casual lounge room and additional home cinema or media room on this level, as well as two bedrooms.

“Located on the top floor is the luxurious master suite, with a large private terrace overlooking the pool and beautiful ensuite.

“Two other bedrooms are also on this level and open out to their own private courtyards, one overlooking the pool and one overlooking the cascading waterfalls and pond. The outdoor areas are simply amazing and include the tranquil infinity pool and spa, along with multiple deck and sunlounge areas.

“The indoor and outdoor living spaces perfectly combine, making this property the perfect place to live, relax and entertain.”

AT the best of times, open homes in one of Cairns’ most sought-after suburbs attract 10-30 groups in one session, so 10 times the usual attention would be impossible to picture.

RE/MAX agent Mat Foley was left exhausted and with writer’s cramp as he took details from 123 groups who stormed through 10 Glenlea St, Edge Hill, in 50 minutes on Sunday.

“It was pretty exciting, everyone that was there was very interested,” Mr Foley said

“Some of the groups had three or four people in them, so estimate somewhere between 250300 people in about 50 minutes. The first offer came in on Tuesday but I’ve already sent out about 10 contracts,” he said on Wednesday.

Edge Hill is known to be a bustling suburb, especially on weekends, with its robust dining precinct and easy access to parks and trails.

But Mr Foley described the incredible scenes at the 1965 lowset Queenslander as “crazy” with the suburb’s Collins St-like traffic present at Glenlea St.

“The street was full of cars and the line went from the front door, out through the front gate and then almost to the neighbour’s property, in both directions.

“I was pretty tired and probably finished work about 10pm on Sunday night just purely because the phone did not stop ringing – it was all about that one property.

“On Tuesday I was doing call backs and I got about a third of the way through and I almost lost my voice.”

Mr Foley said 10 Glenlea St attracted a wide range of people but the majority were current homeowners from Edge Hill, Whitfield and nearby suburbs chasing a value investment.

The four-bedroom house was listed for offers above $399,000, while according to realestate.com.au, the median price for fourbedroom houses at Edge Hill was $587,500.

“There’s a lot of potential for this property. It’s on a 809 sqm block so you could subdivide the back.

“It’s on concrete stumps and could be very easily lifted to add another storey and have something modern built underneath.”
