DUO BUCK THE TREND

-

DESPITE the world coming to a stop during coronavirus lockdowns, RE/MAX Real Estate Services in Cairns had a cracker of a month in June.

The Cairns agency came in as the second RE/ MAX office nationwide and the top office in North Queensland for transactions and commissions.

Cairns RE/MAX principal Ray Murphy said while some had predicted a reduction in sales activity with the drop-off in tourists due to travel restrictions, buyers had proved the naysayers wrong.

“Our office has experienced massive buyer confidence in recent months and June has been the standout to date,” he said.

“Our sales volume was second highest in Australia and it takes a lot of transactions to hit that mark. I am expecting even better with the intra-state travel and further opening of some borders,” he said.

Two Cairns agents were in the network’s top 20 for June, with Udo Jattke ranking in sixth place and Gisele George at 15.

Ray and David Murphy are coming up to one year of business ownership since taking over from Tony Williamson last year.

RE/MAX Australia managing director Joel Davoren said Ray and David had “shown great leadership in taking their experienced team forward”.

“As an overall sales and property management force, the Cairns office continues to set new benchmarks for service and performance both locally and within the network as it maintains a market-leading position with its multi-award-winning agents and teams.”

Ray Murphy said COVID-19 may have changed our way of life, “but we’ve seen for a fact that buyers still want property and sellers still want to sell”.

“We are here to help with the same passion and enthusiasm and commitment to our customers that we’ve always had,” he said.
