Beachfront dream home breaks record

-

A CAIRNS family who had built a luxury house to call home long-term have achieved a record-breaking sale after regrettably listing their property.

Unobstructed ocean views from a large beachfront home in a quiet suburb, and a short drive to the CBD, were key to propelling 98 Cinderella St, Machans Beach, to a new suburb sales record of $1.195m.

The five-bedroom house was sold on August 17 by LJ Hooker Cairns Beaches agent Nick Pelucchi, who said the previous suburb record at $1.125m was set by a property on the street.

According to realestate.com.au data, the median sales price for houses at Machans Beach is $405,000.

“If there’s going to be million-dollar sales at Machans Beach it will be Cinderella St – they’re all absolute beachfront properties,” Mr Pelucchi said.

“The family were really happy with the sale because it let them buy their new home in Brisbane sight unseen.

“They had custom built this house from the ground up four years ago to live in longterm. But their son received a football scholarship in Brisbane. So it was a regrettable sale, but it’s what you have to do for family,” he said.

The proud new owners of the recordbreaking home will enjoy the serenity of Machans Beach from their beachfront backyard, which also includes an in-ground pool for hours of fun made easy with an outdoor powder room and shower.

The sprawling, light-filled layout offers seamless indoor-outdoor living while perfectly framing the ocean views.

The luxurious home features an openplan kitchen, dining and living zone which is set under a tall ceiling and opens on to the covered patio complete with an outdoor kitchen, wine fridge and speaker system.

“Its location and the views are the reasons it was always going to sell,” Mr Pelucchi said.
