FLOOR-TO-CEILING windows make the most of pleasant views from almost every room in this sizeable four-bedroom home, as well as capturing breezes from its elevated position.

Built for the tropics, the home is light filled, with a vast tiled veranda that is a perfect outdoor dining and entertainment area.

Located in a prestigious residential estate and surrounded by quality homes, the house is architect designed and has won awards over the years. It has circular features in places.

It was a Cairns Post prize home when it was built, attracting frenzied attention.

Agent Udo Jattke of RE/MAX, who was at the helm of building company Glenwood and built the house in 1993, said it had truly stood the test of time.

“It was aimed to be a concept house to put the new City View Estate at the forefront, and the features of the house are as stunning now as they were then,” Mr Jattke said.

It has a neat and tidy face with an entrance portico and well established gardens, with a great family pool in the backyard, with a shade sail.

There are wonderful mountain views from the pool.

A galley-style kitchen overlooking the veranda leads to a large dining area.

The home is predominantly tiled throughout and the main bathroom with a big bathtub is sleek and inviting.

One bedroom is currently being used as an airy office and art studio with large windows.

A large master bedroom with generous ensuite has sliding glass doors opening on to a patio and there is another cute patio overlooking the front garden.

The sunken main living area is stylishly circular with a feature balustrade, with floor to ceiling windows.

The home is less than 6km from the CBD.

The median house price for Mooroobool in December 2020 was $380,000 but it is not a reliable indicator with various parts of the suburb including City Views highly sought after.
