JIM CAMPBELL ber of hot-button issues in the city, including fluoride.

As the community survey enters its final days Cairns Mayor Bob Manning has also called on residents who have not already filled out the survey to have their say on the region’s future.

More than 5000 people have completed the survey, available via council’s website.

“This is already the largest consultation exercise council has ever undertaken but there are still a lot of people who have not had their say,” Cr Manning said.

“This survey is for everyone – whatever your age, background or interests. If you are part of our Cairns community, we want to hear from you.”

With the aim of accurately portraying the community’s vision for Cairns, the survey results will assist in the development of council’s new Corporate Plan.

“Through Our Cairns, residents can contribute to the future direction of the city and the more people respond, the more reliable the result,” the mayor said.

The survey will remain live at cairns.qld.gov.au until August 31. Paper copies are available at Cairns Libraries and at the Spence St administration centre. Read the open letter – page 36
