Snakes strike gold with import Trice

JORDAN GERRANS have a learning process where they do not play well because they are thinking too much but our new guys have been great,” Gliddon said.

“Trav was really dominant defensively and getting buckets.

“If this is the bottom of their level of play and they can keep improving, it is exciting as a group.

“Trav has got a pretty good voice for a guy that is just learning all our stuff.

“He is finding the new role a bit challenging in terms of being guarded full court but as soon as he gets that under his belt, he is going to be great.

“He is going to be really important for us going forward.”

Fuquan Edwin backed up his impressive debut on the way to 15 points, seven boards and two steals while Nnanna Egwu, in his first outing in orange, had seven points and three rebounds off the bench.

Wildcat Jameel McKay was their focal point with 18 points and 10 boards.

Gliddon expects the Wildcats will be keen to level the series tonight.

“It is the pre-season but every game you want to win and they will want to show what they have got,” Gliddon said.

“They will want to get one on us but we are playing confident as a team at the minute.

“We are in a confident mindset.”

The Taipans will play two pre-season games next weekend against Melbourne United, on Thursday in Knox and Saturday in Ballarat. The two-game series continues tonight at CQUniversity Rockhampton, North Indoor Sports Stadium.
