DUAL CELEBRATIONS: Mayor Bob Manning and wife Claire celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary this week. The pair attended the presentation evening for the TWS Sail Cairns Regatta at Cairns Cruising Yacht Squadron on Tuesday night and enjoyed a celebratory dinner for their personal milestone while they were there. Mrs Manning also celebrated a birthday on September 12, when the proud grandparents travelled to Townsville to spend time with their daughter and granddaughter.

STILL CRUISIN’: CQUniversity Vice-Chancellor Scott Bowman and wife Anita will have plenty of memories from their 31st wedding anniversary, which they celebrated recently during a Mediterranean cruise with close friends Chris and Debbie Marsh of Cairns. Currently on three months’ long service leave from CQU, the Bowmans began their adventure with a 4WD trek across the top of Australia before flying to the UK, Europe and Africa for the holiday of a lifetime.
