OH, NO!

JORDAN GERRANS Sydney were somewhat honourable, the 36ers dominated from start to finish last night, winning 83 to 67.

Alex Loughton and Travis Trice scored in double figures in the defeat.

The Snakes hit four straight threes in the third term to reduce the margin to just eight but it ballooned straight back out.

The Taipans fell in love with it but struggled from deep, hitting just 4-23 from three in the opening half, as they trailed by 14 at halftime.

MVP candidate Jerome Randle pulled the strings for the 36ers while former Taipan Nathan Sobey and youngster Terrance Ferguson both contributed for the hosts.

Before the game, fans and players were evacuated from Titanium Security Arena, after a suspected bomb scare.

Shortly before 6.30pm local time, up to 6000 spectators were told via loudspeaker to leave the stadium in an orderly manner.

Tip-off for the game was delayed 30 minutes.

The Taipans cause in their home opener was boosted as United star Chris Goulding will miss up to two weeks with a sprained ankle but has escaped serious injury.

Goulding went over on his left ankle in the final quarter of Thursday night’s win over the Brisbane Bullets and looked in severe pain on the court.
