Pharmacy on old Sizzler site

Cairns businessman Frank Pappalardo is extending his business interests into Earlville, having demolished a former Sizzler restaurant to add another Discount Drug Store to his portfolio. CONSTRUCTION is sizzling on Mulgrave Rd with a major pharmacy and medical centre development well under way.

Cairns businessman Frank Pappalardo is extending his business interests into Earlville, having demolished a former Sizzler restaurant to add another Discount Drug Store to his portfolio.

Artist’s impressions reveal the pharmacy will feature an integrated cafe – similar to Mr Pappalardo’s Pease St Discount Drug Store outlet – with an attached dentist, medical centre and physiotherapist.

An approved Cairns Regional Council development application states the neighbouring KFC restaurant will retain its current opening hours, while the medical complex will run from 8am to 9pm seven days a week.

The development includes semi-basement car parking and a large LED video screen with advertising visible from the street.

Mr Pappalardo did not wish to comment.
