A veterinary science degree takes about five to six years to complete depending on the university. There are seven universities in Australia offering undergraduate veterinary science courses, the closest is James Cook University in Townsville. Other universities also offer veterinary courses, but attending one of these may require more time or further studies to obtain your degree. Two veterinary nurse certificates are offered through online courses.
