KEEPING AN EYE ON FEATHERED FRIENDS

THE Far North has an abundant bird life and there is plenty to see, even from the comfort of your own backyard. But if you want to take a closer look, Birdlife NQ is hosting a workshop today which will allow people to learn about the journey of the local migratory shorebirds, which are also known as waders. The seminar, which will be held at the Cairns City Library between 3-5.30pm, will discuss the conservation issues facing the species. There will also be a practical session of shorebird identification on the Esplanade. It is open to anyone who wishes to attend.
