We’ll be stronger, Veall warns fans

-

BRING on the orange army.

That’s the message Stuart Veall has for Mareeba fans, although he’s not about to make any brash statements about beating his opposition after Marlin Coasts’ admittedly “woeful” Round 1 showing.

Fortunately, you don’t win titles in March.

“It wasn’t a good start,” Veall said.

“Slowly and steadily they’re getting better. But I don’t want them to be super now, I want them to be super for the finals. Right now it’s all about building, building momentum.

“This week we’ll be better, stronger, the game will be tougher, quicker and my players have some work to do but they’re learning quickly.”

Mareeba coach Alex Srhoj said his side didn’t know what to expect against a completely new team, but expected them to bounce back after a 3-0 loss in the opening round.

“Stu won’t be happy, and I know one thing, he will get the boys up for this weekend that’s for sure,” he said.

Of course the Bulls too were first round losers and have mixed news going into this clash. Alex Plowman is still recovering from an injury, but Wayne Srhoj will be back in the starting line-up and Paul Ruiz will return from injury.
