OFF TO A TOP START

-

QThe Cowboys have made a great start to the season despite a number of injuries in that time. What do you make of the first month or so?

AWe’re delighted to be honest. We’re four from five, which is a really good start. We’ve had some challenges around injuries and we’re delighted with how our young players have stepped up. We’re going to need them a bit more over the next month but given some of the disruption we’ve had, we’re delighted and hopefully once we get a few of our senior players back, with the experience the young guys are getting over this period now, then later in the season we think that will stand us in good stead.

QWhile the Cowboys have an important game against the Tigers, up here your two feeder clubs the Pride and Blackhawks are battling it out. Who will you be cheering for?

AI hope it’s a really good game. I wear a lot of different hats in north Queensland at the moment, so I can’t be seen to be too biased. What I hope is, is there’s a really good crowd there, because I think it’s going to be a really top-class game of football. People can get there at 5.30pm and still get home in time to watch the Cowboys at 7.30pm, or to the pub, to watch the game and my first hope is that it gets the crowd that it deserves because I think it’s going to be a really high-level game of footy and whoever wins the game will have earned it, there’s no doubt about that. I reckon it’s going to be a really hard, tough, entertaining game of footy.
