Fired up for 90 minutes of tough play

-

JACOB GRAMS would be a big threat come tonight despite their changes.

“They’re a bit similar to us in that they have a lot of new players, but they still play for 90 minutes and we need to be ready for that,” Campbell said.

The Heat’s game plan won’t change but will have to do the job without defender Josh Jennison and midfielder Lorenzo Sipi, missing through injury.

FNQ Heat vice-captain Ari Isman, who deputised as captain in the absence of Jamie Carroll, said his side would be firing on all cylinders at both ends of the field against a side coming into form.

“I think we need to improve in both areas. There’s a lot more goals in us and we need to be a bit tighter at the back,” he said. “We’re leaking a few too many soft goals. At the other end we’re creating opportunities but we just need someone to finish them off and get more on target.”

Isman said the home crowd had got the Heat over the line a few times this season and said it would make a difference at Barlow Park tonight against an relatively unknown opponent.

“We don’t know how they’re going to line up. I think they've actually picked up their form in the past few weeks but we just need to focus more on ourselves and if we do what we know we can then we should stay one step ahead of them,” he said.
