Q What do you get up to outside of footy? How are you spending retirement?

A I’m retired but I still do a bit of part-time project management. I worked previously with road construction. If someone asks I’ll do a bit of work but otherwise rugby league takes up a lot of your time. It’s a big job. I’m probably lucky to have some good executives behind me and that makes it easier. Other than that we just spend a bit of family time. We’ve got some gorgeous grandchildren now, one son in Melbourne we try to get down to him when we can. But locally the grandchildren chew up a bit of your time and they’re great to be around. They make you young again.
