FACT FILE — COLIN MOORE

• Colin Moore was born in Cairns in 1951 and attended Cairns State High School • He played his first junior football at under-15s for Past High before moving to Kangaroos • Moore continued on to senior football for the club and won the CDRL’s Gold Medal for player of the year in 1974 and 1977 • He later moved to Ivanhoes to finish his playing career and continued on as coach for several years. Moore played and coached in the Foley Shield • Before his time on the field was up, Moore said his greatest highlight was representi­ng Queensland Country against Brisbane • He built an affinity with South Sydney after playing for a junior Queensland side against NSW at Redfern Oval • Moore has been chairman of the CDRL since 2011 • He was awarded life membership of the CDRL in 2014 • His spare time is spent tending to his grandchild­ren
