ANYONE who has taken part in a yoga session before may have heard or taken part in a mantra at the end of the class. Given the popularity of yoga, it is likely many people have taken part in the chant, without having a full understanding of its meaning. The mantras are designed to create vibrational energy in a room and some would have felt the sense of harmony it creates. A Cairns yoga teacher will hold a free community event this evening

in “kirtan”, which is an entire class dedicated to mantras that are put to music and sung in a call-andresponse style. Han Wee Tan will hols the class at Yoga Hub on Lake St in the Cairns CBD between 6-7.30pm and it is open to people of all abilities and ages.
