Mel will have a ball on gridiron’s world stage

-

CAIRNS gridiron player Mel Kelly is ready to take on the world.

The 31-year-old wide receiver is among a 52-player squad set to represent Australia in the International Federation of American football Women’s World Championship in British Columbia in Canada starting tomorrow.

Ms Kelly, who also models and played in the Lingerie Football League, relocated to Cairns this year and is a key figure in the Cairns Falcons side and trains with the men’s team after two years with the Gold Coast Stingrays.

For anyone wanting to cheer on the local star, the Red Beret Hotel in Redlynch will be screening their first game against the home nation from 11am.
