SWITCH IN TRAINING WAS A BIG LIFT

-

You spent six years at the Taipans, what changed over your time with the club in terms of your role?

AThe players used to spend three hours on the court in the morning and get flogged. They would then expect them back in the afternoon for weights and shooting. They could not do it, they had nothing left. We changed it as we were getting nothing out of lifting. We lifted early and then be on court after that. It was about me growing balls and saying to Fearney that is how much they can train and to pull it back a bit. We started to get listened too and it evolved. I needed to get confident in my role and step up and say something. We took out a lot of bench press stuff at the Taipans that we used a lot with the Pride. There is not a lot of laying down and pushing in their game. On a personal level, once I started with Leaguetek, I have two mornings a week with my twins, my kids have never had me there for breakfast before. They are nine now. The family time is a big help and the money always helps.
