Call for players to shape up

The last one resulted in defeat at the hands of cellardwellers Tweed Heads and Marum said it was down to attitude, which the players had to address before kick-off against the Pride.

“We haven’t been playing smart football for the past two weeks, against the Magpies at home where we won by four points and also last week with the loss against last-placed Tweed,” he said.

“We just had no patience and made a lot of errors. We’ve all seen it in the video and the team has spoken about it, so just the attitude needs to be spot on against a quality team like the Pride as well.

“They had a rest last week and they will be tough to beat at home.

“We haven’t won here since 2014, so it’s going to be a tough game.

“We just need to go back to playing the kind of football we’re used to.”

Marum said the return of captain Ase Boas would no doubt help the boys play the type of football that got them to the top of the ladder.

“He controls the plays and he’s one of the elder players respected by everyone there and he talks and everyone listens and that’s one things he brings to our side that was missing last week,” he said.
