Arrests over alleged property crimes

THE Cairns Property Crime Squad arrested two youths in Yarrabah over a number of alleged property offences across the region.

A 15-year-old boy was charged with burglary, unlaw- ful use of a motor vehicle, arson, trespassing, unlicensed driving, enter with intent and entering and committing an indictable offence.

The arson charge relates to the alleged theft of a Subaru Impreza from Kanimbla on July 12 that was later found destroyed by fire in bushland near Stockyard Rd in Yarrabah.

A 17-year-old boy was charged with wilful damage, six counts of burglary, four counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and three counts of failing to appear.

Police will allege that the offences occurred on June 3 in Kanimbla and July 12 in Yarrabah.
