The Weekend Post

FIELD OF DREAMS

-

Q So it’s business time now for the Cowboys. How do they go about beating Melbourne?

A I just think for the Cowboys, you’ve seen it the past couple of weeks. I think Greeny nailed it on the head at the last press conference. They’ve been doing it for the last two months and everyone knows their role and I think they’ve been frustrating teams. They frustrated Sharks, Parramatta, Roosters and if they can do that same thing this weekend. You saw Melbourne got frustrated by Brisbane in the first 20 minutes, they rattled the cage a bit. I’m sure the Cowboys can do the same if they hold on for the full 80.

Q Adding to the intrigue is the fact the Storm haven’t played their best football in the finals. Where’s their weakness? A Every team will have their day and Melbourne are beatable.

You’ve got to be consistent, not turn the ball over and do all those little things you’ve got to do to beat Melbourne and the Cowboys have got it in them. They did it last weekend but obviously it’s a bigger stage and I just can’t wait to see them rip in.

Q Everyone has been talking about Michael Morgan and Jason Taumalolo, but who’s the unsung hero for the group?

A I think Lachlan Coote. He’s been the best fullback so far in the semi-finals series. He’s made every tackle, cleaned up every ball, he does his job right and does all the little things right. He’s making that last line of defence and attacking and kicks on that left side. Morgo and Taumalolo take all the wraps but you need your full 17 each week to stand up and do their job and it makes it a lot easier when Cootey’s doing his job and chipping in.
