Sweetest win looms for Bolton

CHOOSING your favourite premiership would be like picking your favourite child but if the Cowboys win tomorrow, Scott Bolton says it would be the sweetest victory of all.
The 30-year-old did his job off the bench in the 2015 triumph but leading the pack on to ANZ Stadium will be an incomparable experience.
“For me it has been a lot more special the way we’ve got here and what we’ve had to overcome but obviously myself I’ve had a lot more of a role and have got more of a sense of belonging in the team,” Bolton said. “I haven’t changed much but obviously I’ve got a bit more of a leadership role and just a few more minutes.
“I haven’t had to do any more training. I’ve always been prepared to play for 80 minutes, because you never know what you have to do with injuries and all that.
“Every grand final is a different experience but for me this would be very special and really cap off a really good year.”
The prop is not the most excitable character but just being there on grand final day is more a reward for those who have supported him.
Bolton has spent more time in Sydney in the past month than at home with wife Michelle, while mum and dad Veronica and Peter have been right behind him all his life. This one is for them. “Obviously your family and friends come along on the ride with you. They’re the ones who have supported me right through since I was a junior. These are the kind of games you reap the rewards for their efforts,” Bolton said.
As for Innisfail, he doesn’t mind if they cheer for Billy.
“But there’s a lot of loyal Cowboys supporters in Innisfail and I’ve got all my family and friends as well,” Bolton said.
“I hope most of the Cowboys fans are down in Sydney to cheer us on.”
