Roofing repairs in order
ANDREA FALVO
Mr Ashby said regular maintenance of roofs was key to ensuring they would last for several decades.
“It’s always good to clean out your gutters about two to three times year,” he said.
“Clean out the leaves and tennis balls or anything else that might find its way in there to make sure they're are all working properly and to prevent flooding.”
Mr Ashby said in the local market he’d noticed a shift from people choosing light coloured roofs to darker colours.
“People are tending to move away from the lighter colours due to the fact that they tend to attract mould,” he said.
“It’s something I’ve noticed over the last five to eight years.”
