TOWNSVILLE jockey Jef­frey Felix has been re­leased from hospi­tal af­ter a se­ri­ous race fall last week­end at Home Hill. Felix suf­fered nu­mer­ous se­ri­ous in­juries in­clud­ing a frac­tured skill and rup­tured spleen when he fell from the horse My­tang. The 45-year-old was rushed to the Townsville Hospi­tal’s In­ten­sive Care Unit for treat­ment fol­low­ing the ac­ci­dent. Doc­tors al­lowed Felix into a gen­eral ward ear­lier in the week af­ter their con­cerns about his spleen in­jury were re­lieved. He has since been al­lowed to re­turn home where he’s been con­fined to bed while his re­cov­ery con­tin­ues. The cause of the ac­ci­dent is be­ing in­ves­ti­gated by Queens­land Rac­ing In­tegrity Com­mis­sion ste­wards.
