BEING an expert at almost every position on the rugby league field can be a challenge but Danny Addy’s knowledge of each Scotland players’ role could well lead them to victory today.
The 26-year-old has effectively been handed the keys to the Bravehearts’ attack after being named at five-eighth to face Samoa in one of the few “live” matches remaining in the tournament.
Addy usually plays where he fits – he’s played centre, second row, halfback, five-eighth, lock and hooker during his Test career – and knowing where Steve McCormack expects them to be could have him a better chance of supplying tries rather than scoring them as he did against Tonga.
“It’s sort of second-nature. Anytime you can drop me in anywhere and I know that job inside out, so obviously that benefits me and this week it’s my job to create things at halfback,” he said.
