RUNS IN THE FAMILY

-

Q What was it like playing against your sister and Collingwood captain Madi Robinson ( right) last season?

A It was a strange experience but I loved it. I found it more difficult than I thought because you obviously want to win and have your team be the best but you will always have that love for your siblings where you want to see them succeed as well. Our mum and dad had a blast flying from coast to coast and all over Australia to catch both games each weekend.

Q What were the battles like in the backyard as kids between the two of you?

A They were always feisty. Lots of rough and tumble and never any mercy but I think that’s what made both of us tough and cut out for sport.

Q Obviously you guys played together at the Melbourne Vixens in the trans-Tasman Championship, was it hard to split up and play for different clubs this season?

A I absolutely loved playing in the same team as Madi and felt like an apprentice lucky enough to learn from the master. We obviously play the same positions and so when the opportunity came to me from the Lightning I saw it as an opening for me to step out from her shadow and create my own name in netball in a different state, with a different start and a new and exciting team. We knew eventually we’d have to split up but I really do hope that one day we will be able to pull on the same colours again and play together.
