TAKING FLIGHT

LEARN more about the region’s birdlife by taking part in one of the free weekly guided tours. The walks are held every Tuesday between 8.30-10.30am starting at Friends House in the Flecker Garden. First walk of the year will be on January 9. Comfortabl­e walking shoes and binoculars recommende­d.

READING THE SIGNS

Drop into Manunda Library and learn about the eLibrary and how you can access a huge range of resources from home. The Ebooks and more sessions are held between 10.30-11.30 on the first Thursday of the month, starting January 4. Bring your own Android or Apple device if desired.

ART ATTACK

BABINDA residents looking for an activity to help entertain the kids this school holiday could join the Paper Suncatcher Craft session at the Library. The class will be held on January 9 between 10.30-11.30am and is recommende­d for children aged over 5. Bookings are essential on 4067 1112.

UNDER THE SEA

CHILDREN aged between 5-8 are invited to take part in a class run by the Cairns Art Gallery to design and create their own imaginary twodimensi­onal sea creature, complete with movable appendages. It will be held on Monday, January 8 between 10-11.30am and costs $14 for members or $18 for non-members.
