Funds for an array of skilful uses

-

MORE than $30 million has been awarded to 161 programs through the latest round of Skilling Queenslanders for Work funding.

“This program gives people who have struggled to find a job the skills and training they need to find work and build a successful career,” Training and Skills Development Minister Shannon Fentiman said this week.

“Improving job prospects for Queenslanders will boost the local economy and help businesses to grow.”

The organisations are required to develop a personalised training and support plan for each trainee that can include additional language, literacy and numeracy training, job readiness activities such as resume writing, interview preparation and workplace understanding, and other strategies so each person can work towards overcoming the barriers they face.

Skilling Queenslanders for Work funds skills development, training and job opportunities for unemployed, disengaged or disadvantaged Queenslanders through a suite of targeted skills and training programs.
