Tully now looks pretty spectacular
A WORKS for Queensland team has helped beautify Tully’s main street and the results are exceptional.
“For the past year we have been working together most Tuesdays,” said Cassowary Coast Regional Council natural environment support officer Judy Murphy.
“The group has continued to grow since its inception and everyone has a fabulous time.”
Ms Murphy said the group had been working with the council’s staff creating different designs for the parks and together they had made a wonderful impression on the town.
“We’ve had so many compliments from people about how beautiful the town is looking,” she said.
“People really appreciate the effort being put into the town with the addition of a greater variety of plants and more flowering species.”
Minister for Local Government Stirling Hinchliffe congratulated the council on a Works for Queensland project that was bringing the community together.
“This is a fantastic example of the program delivering community infrastructure to improve the livability of the Cassowary Coast,” Mr Hinchliffe said.
