Most professional florists undergo formal study to gain qualifications, ranging from short classes to one-toone tuition, or courses such as horticulture and floristry offered by TAFE Queensland. Budding florists can progress through the ranks starting with a Certificate II for a basic overall grounding in floristry, a Certificate III for more specialist floristry techniques, and a Cert IV to manage a florist retail outlet or design business independently.
