Crime forum misses masses
I AM incensed, but not surprised, at the timing of the public forum to discuss Cairns crime at 11am on Monday, March 26.
I believe the time was chosen to preclude a lot of people who have experienced crime first-hand or have fears, but who are actually working at this time. They will be unable to express their views at this forum.
I am also wondering if the secrecy surrounding the venue is because our politicians are afraid of the number of people who would like to attend if it was held at a time to accommodate those of us who work to provide the goods which are stolen.
Call me cynical, but when some of our local politicians advocate that custody isn’t the answer, I think this meeting is paying lip service to the issue. Michelle Stephenson, Bentley Park
