THE Mossman/Port Douglas Sharks hope to repeat history against Ivanhoes today.

It was 20 years ago when the Sharks took home the 1998 CDRL Premiership over Ivanhoes at the Shark Tank.

The Sharks are looking to make up for last week’s loss against Innisfail.

“It’s just one of those games,” said coach Jason Chilman.

“We just have to push past it and the boys are up for that.

“It was defensive errors that cost us the game.”

The Sharks were up 14-nil

during in the first half but Innisfail managed to break away with a few easy tries.

The Sharks lost two valuable players, Paddy Whap and Shawn Bowen, due to injuries early in the first term.

Chilman said the boys had been working hard at training this week.

“We’re looking to get the boys back on mark, we were lacking our line speed at the weekend just gone and that’s how they beat us,” he said.

“We’re going to work on our defence.”

The young Ivanhoes side will face the Sharks coming off a high after defeating Tully.

“They’re talented and are not to be underestimated,” said Chilman.

“We’re not going to let this game be easy, it’s always good to play at home and we want to win the home games we have left. We’d love to see a crowd down there (to) support the boys.”

The Sharks will host a re-

union of players of the 1998 grand final against Ivanhoes. Proceeds will go to former Sharks player Noel Haslam Jnr.

In other matches today, Brothers host Kangaroos, Atherton travel to Tully and Mareeba are at Edmonton.

Yarrabah are at home to Innisfail tomorrow.
