Big season

-

Corey Oates CTW (BRO| $504,000) — 2018 avg: 53.9 A hard-running metre eater who is also one of the best finishers in the game.

Oates has averaged more than 50 in Supercoach for the past three seasons and I don’t see that slipping. Nick Cotric CTW/FLB (CBR | $451,100) — 2018 avg: 48.2 Cotric busts tackles for fun and can sniff out a try from anywhere. Jack Wighton’s proposed move to five-eighth could also pave the way for Cotric to get more involved at fullback. Corey Allan CTW/FLB (STH | $168,100) — 2018 avg: N/A Allan is yet to make his NRL debut, but Australian coach Mal Meninga thought so highly of the South speedster that he was picked in last year’s Prime Minister’s XIII. Jaeman Salmon CTW/5/8 (PAR | $210,500) — 2018 avg: 25 Salmon is one of the players in line to replace Corey Norman in the halves and has some NRL experience on his side having played five games last season. Zac Lomax CTW (STG $196,900) — 2018 avg: 21.5 Lomax just oozes talent despite an injury-plagued 2018 and he shapes as a certain starter in a depleted Dragons backline. Bronson Xerri CTW (CRO | $168,100) — 2018 avg: N/A I’ll admit I don’t know too much about the Sharks flyer, but outgoing Sharks coach Shane Flanagan declared he would have debuted Xerri last season if he had been old enough.

A great cheapie pick. | FLB Ben Barba FLB (NQC $467,300) — 2018 avg: N/A Barba has been a genuine Supercoach gun in the past and his move back to the NRL with the Cowboys has me very excited.

Barba absolutely dominated the English Super League last season and he’ll add some much-needed spark to North Queensland’s backline. Scott Drinkwater FLB (MEL | $219,400) — 2018 avg: 67 Drinkwater’s position at the Storm is far from guaranteed, but he’s coming off a brilliant Queensland Cup season and will be doing everything he can to claim Billy Slater’s vacant No.1 jersey. |
