Committee position

WORKLINK business and social enterprise­s manager Stephanie Coleman has been awarded a position on the 2050 Vision committee with the Cairns Regional Council. One position was made available for a member of the Cairns Chamber of Commerce emerging leader program.

Tourism workshop

TOURISM Tropical North Queensland is holding a workshop on how to create a visually compelling commercial space to showcase products and drive a strong return. Participan­ts are eligible for a free one-on-one consultati­on with facilitato­r Sarah Davies at 4pm and 5pm on May 28 or between 8am and 3pm on May 29. Ms Davies has 25 years’ experience in retail sales, management and visual merchandis­ing. The offer is open to tourism businesses with fewer than 20 full-time employees. TTNQ members and nonmembers welcome.

New vet president

JULIA Crawford has been appointed national president of the Australian Veterinary Associatio­n after serving four years on the board. Dr Crawford said it was an honour and privilege to be elected. She replaces Paula Parker, who will stay with the board for another two years. Chris Reardon and Malcolm McLennan will finish their tenure at the board and Bronwyn Orr and Nick Sangster, as well as Warwick Vale and David Petersen will join as new directors.
