On other matters

Cheeky or too rude? ( CP, 26/07). Front page yesterday had a local breaking the law. Police action pending? No doubt the article is correct, the police appear to be “looking the other way”. As a friend said to me on this matter, “there is no enforcement”. Sad but true, our local police are nowhere to be seen and it’s pretty much free rein for all. Apart from a couple of photos in the CP, haven’t seen one police officer on traffic duty in the CBD this year. As for closer to home, Redlynch, our streets are a fatality waiting to happen. More police on our roads, in our streets and actually enforcing the law. Rick, Redlynch On Buchan Point. The crocs will be lining up, no zips or buttons to swallow with the nude swimmers. Mel, Smithfield The UK’s new PM will need more than luck. Boris has the entire media lined up against him, like President Trump has, but Boris doesn’t have the USA’s brilliant constitution to support his push to halt his country’s slide into communism. Miss T, Tolga Why has no Russian politician/scientist/ cosmonaut ever claimed moon landing was fake … they were in a space race to be first. Jose Jimenez, City Dean. Anyone with a telescope good enough can see where the original astronauts landed. All the footprints, the flag that was erected and the marks left where the Eagle landed. It was real mate. Robbo, Gordonvale “Trump not cleared” ( CP, 26/07). A person cannot be “exonerated” unless they have been charged with a crime, found guilty, convicted, and then had their conviction overturned. If a court finds the accused not guilty they are never “found innocent” or “exonerated”. Tradie, Colorado
