Roy Chillemi first starter Past Ready has opened at a very short price of $2.30 with no exposed form. In a maiden with little experience among the nine starters, Trevor Rowe’s new filly Flying Sara is worth an each-way bet.

RACE THREE CHAPEL ROAD Number 1 $6.50

The Class 4 Handicap is a solid race with a number of winning chances. Stephen Massingham’s gelding was only just beaten on two occasions in Open Handicap races earlier this preparation and is back to a Class 4 today.

RACE FOUR AGGARWAL Number 5 $5

The consistent Aggarwal just missed last Saturday at Townsville, beaten under half a length in a Class 3 Plate. The Roy Chillemitrained gelding steps up to a Class 5 Handicap this afternoon but comes down in weight.

RACE FIVE MERCURY BULLET Number 3 $6

The five-year-old gelding is yet to win up to 1200m with all his three career victories over 1000m. He showed last week, running second over 1200m, that the extra distance should not be a worry today.

RACE SIX CROCODILE SHOES Number 4 $2.50

Stephen Massingham’s gelding has won up to 2100m and was just beaten over 2000m last start. Should be winning.

RACE SEVEN GREY MISSILE Number 6 $11

He has had plenty of chances in 2019, recording just one win from seven starts. With just 56kg on his back, if the grey gelding can find his best form, he is capable of adding a Cairns Newmarket to his resume.
