Boxing and rugby goals

AI had a bit more confidence after the tour, going over there, playing really well was great for me. I came back revived and excited for the year. I went to Sunnybank and loved it again. I was injured at the start but it took me out of only one game. I’d ripped a muscle under the foot – I don’t even know how that happened. I couldn’t walk for a few days. I played premier grade all year, I had a great time. We started well but it fell apart towards the end. The coach was good to me, the players were good, but a few people had different agendas and weren’t there for the same reasons. But the facilities they have at Sunnybank are top-notch.

We were bottom of the ladder, I had a great time and a good year as a player, but I didn’t want another year of mundane stuff and doing the same thing. I wanted to learn. It felt I was getting stuck so I went to Souths.

AIt puts everything in perspective. I support him completely in his choice to retire from footy. You’ve only got one head. Footy is fun and it can take you places, but life is more important and head injuries are too risky. You can’t be playing with that type of stuff.

AIf someone gave me the opportunity to play high-level rugby it’d be great, but at the end of the day they’ve got so many players around Australia they’re looking at. My size doesn’t help me as a No.7, sometimes I want to go back into the backs and play No.12, but in Premier Rugby in Brisbane it seems I’m not seen as a 12 or a back which makes it hard. But New York is where I want to go.
