SHAKE a tail feather when the Cairns Latin Dance Club celebrates its first anniversar­y with a Gala Night tonight.

The evening will include canapes, mocktails and seven performanc­es to showcase students and instructor­s.

After the performanc­es, tickethold­ers are invited to strut their own stuff with some social dancing.

The CLDC is an incorporat­ed not-for-profit dance club offering a safe, friendly, fun, respectful environmen­t.

The club encourages dancers to participat­e in choreograp­hed dance routines, performanc­es and competitio­n.

CLDC members are engaged with the local community through social events, charity and fundraiser performanc­es, and function performanc­es.

WHEN: Saturday November 9, 7pm for 8pm start

WHERE: Cairns Latin Dance Club, 1A/82 Lake St, Cairns City.

Free parking is available in the council multi-level parking next to the library

A MUSICAL extravagan­za celebratin­g everything tropical, fruity and loco is back again for FNQ lovers of good fun.

Coco Loco this year will feature – for one night only – art installati­ons, music and plenty of tropical-inspired giveaways. Featured artists in 2019 include Andrea Huelin, Caroline Mudge, Felicity Bury, Grace Lillian-Lee, Hayley Gillespie, India Collins, Ricky Beresford, Daniel Wallwork, Cherry Pie and DJs Bart, Cameron Kennedy, Concierj and Fun Bizness.

Performers for the evening will feature Sophie Kumari and the Sassy Catz.

THE world’s biggest fundraisin­g event for type 1 diabetes is on in Cairns today. Come along and walk or run in a relaxed environmen­t along the Cairns Esplanade to raise awareness and funding for the disease.

The event organisers are seeking more participan­ts to give it a go.
