BUNNY BUNTING

WHAT YOU NEED:

Printer Coloured A4 paper Scissors Craft knife String Glue (optional) Cottonwool ball for tails (optional) Googly eyes (optional) ACTIVITY:

Easter is a great time for crafty fun. And who doesn’t adore a cute bunny? The bunting can go up in the family room or your child’s room to welcome the Easter Bunny.

First, print out our Easter Bunny template (as many as you like) on different coloured paper and cut out your bunnies.

Then snip a slit in the ears and thread the string through the holes, one from behind the ear and one through the front of the ear.

Keep going until you have as many as you can hang!

You could get the kids to stick googly eyes and cotton tails to your bunnies for a more personalised finish.

EASTER EGG PEOPLE

WHAT YOU NEED:

Eggs: hard boiled, blown or straight from the carton.

Permanent markers

An egg carton

Something to cover your work surface. ACTIVITY:

Cover your work surface with newspaper or a plastic cloth and wear old clothes or an apron.

Cut up an empty egg carton into sections to give the kids somewhere to rest their eggs while they’re working on them.

Use the markers to draw faces, hair, clothes and accessories on your Easter egg people! Tips: Eggs come in a selection of different colours, just like people, so I chose a range of eggs in different shades to decorate.

Hard boiled eggs are stronger and more stable for little hands to manipulate. You could also blow your eggs, which is a fun activity for older kids, or leave them as is.

BUNNY MASK

WHAT YOU NEED:

Small paper plate Pink card Scissors Elastic Craft glue White card Large fawn pompom 3 x white chenille sticks s pink pen ACTIVITY:

Step 1: Put the paper plate up to the face and mark the eye holes and those required at the sides for the elastic. Cut out the eye holes, Cut small side holes and then thread and tie the elastic.

Step 2: Cut out some long bunny ears from the white card and glue to the top of the mask. Then cut smaller ears from pink card and attach them to the centre of the white ears.

Step 3: Twist the three chenille sticks together in the centre and glue to the mask for the bunny’s whiskers. Then glue the pompom nose on top. Draw a mouth using the pink pen.

Now have fun wearing your cardboard bunny mask!

DIY BUNNY EARS

WHAT YOU NEED:

Bunny ears printable template (can be found at http://static.kidspot.com.au/cm_assets/78971/bunnyears-pdf-20160118153210.pdf) scissors

1 x A3 sheet of white cardboard board 1 x Alice headband glue YOU COULD ALSO USE:

Coloured felt

Cotton wool

Coloured pencils, crayons ons or paints ACTIVITY:

Print out two bunny ear templates.

Fold the A3 sheet of cardboard in half and place the ear templates on the fold as marked. Cut two. You will end up with two mirror image b bunny ears.

Now get your headband. Glue each mirror image ear at the centre, to the underside of the headband first. When that is dry, fold each ear around the headband so that the mirror images meet up again. Glue.

Now you can decorate your bunny ears. You can either glue cotton wool all over them for a fluffy bunny look, use pieces of coloured felt to make them look fancy or just colour them in with pencils or crayons.

NO-SEW SOCK BUNNY

WHAT YOU NEED: 1 x sock 3 cups rice 2 x rubber bands 2 x googly craft eyes White felt (1 x A4 sheet is plenty)

Small pieces of white and pink paper (nose and teeth)

25cm of ribbon

Sharp scissors ACTIVITY:

Use a funnel and a jug to fill the sock with rice. Three cups should be enough.

Now use the rubber bands to tie off a body section and then a head section respectively. You will need to leave a long section hanging ov over at the top, this will become the bunny’s ea ears.

Cut out a piece of white felt and create a w white belly for your bunny.

Now give your bunny some personality with e eyes, a pink nose and some nice big white teeth. Tie a ribbon at his neck.

Finally, cut the top overhanging section into two, to create two ears. Trim the two pieces into bunny ear shapes.

PAPER PLATE BASKET

WHAT YOU NEED: 3 x plain white paper plates 2 x googly craft eyes 2 x cotton balls lls 1 x pink button n Lead pencil Glue Stapler Scissors 1 x long pipe cleaner ACTIVITY:

Take one paper per plate. Cut a semi-circle emi-circle at the top so it is shaped like an ear. Then place the second plate beneath the first plate and use the edge to trace an identical shape on to the plate below. Cut that ear out. Now you have two ears.

Set one of these plates aside to use later as the back of the basket.

Now cut a small section of a ribbed edge of the plate, to use as the bunny’s teeth.

Get the third plate, this will be the front of the basket. Staple the ears in place, then create the bunny’s face using the eyes, cotton balls as cheeks and a pink button for a nose.

Glue the “teeth” in place.

Now turn that plate over and get the second plate you set aside earlier: the one with the section cut out of the top for an ear. This creates the mouth of the basket.

With right sides facing each other, staple these two plates together – the one with the face on the front and the one with the ear section cut out of the top. Position the back of the basket so that the cut-out section is at the top of the basket (where the ears are.)

Now punch two holes either side of each ear and use those holes to attach the pipe cleaner as your basket’s carry handle.

You are ready to go egg hunting.
