Brit celebrates freedom

LOS ANGELES: Singer Britney Spears posted cheeky nude photos while celebrating her freedom on an island getaway with her fiance.

In some of the photos, the 39-year-old singer used flower emojis to cover herself.

In the other racy photos, Spears (pictured) wore red bikini bottoms and covered her top half with her hands.

“Playing in the Pacific never hurt anybody,” Spears captioned the post.

Asghari are currently on vacation together and she has been active on social media since news broke that her father Jamie had been suspended from her conservatorship.

She also posted a video with the pair together captioned: “A beautiful day here in paradise celebrating.”

Spears’ holiday snaps come after her father Jamie hit out at an Los Angeles judge’s decision to suspend him as his famous daughter’s conservator.

“Respectfully, the court was wrong to suspend Mr Spears, put a stranger in his place to manage Britney’s estate, and extend the very conservatorship that Britney begged the court to terminate earlier this (northern hemisphere) summer,” Spears’ lawyer, Vivian L Thoreen, said in a statement on Thursday. “Mr Spears loves his daughter Britney unconditionally. For 13 years, he has tried to do what is in her best interests, whether as a conservator or her father,” the statement read.

“This included helping her revive her career and re-establish a relationship with her children.”

Wednesday’s hearing was a massive win for the pop star, who has accused her father of conservatorship “abuse”.

The pop star’s lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, told the court that there was “a mountain of evidence mandating (Jamie Spears’) suspension”.

He said Britney Spears “has been abused by this man for the last decade and since her childhood”.

Judge Brenda Penny ruled that a “suspension is in (Britney’s) best interests”.

Jamie Spears’ statement also alluded to his daughter’s reported mental health issues.

“For anyone who has tried to help a family member dealing with mental health issues, they can appreciate the tremendous amount of daily worry and work this required,” the statement said.

“For Mr Spears, this also meant biting his tongue and not responding to all the false, speculative, and unsubstantiated attacks on him by certain members of the public, media, or more recently, Britney’s own [lawyer].”

The statement continued, “These facts make the outcome of yesterday’s hearing all the more disappointing, and frankly, a loss for Britney.

“Again, it was Mr Spears who took the initiative to file the petition to terminate the conservatorship when neither Britney’s former court-appointed counsel nor her new privately retained (lawyer) would do so.

“It was Mr Spears who asked the court at yesterday’s hearing to immediately terminate the conservatorship while Britney’s own (lawyer) argued against it.”

Re: Bill Blackmore ”tree hugging” and climate change (CP, 1/10). When business and finance follow the science denial is history. The fact our children will inherit a more secure and safer planet is irrefutable if burning of fossil fuels is addressed.

While the Qld premier wears all the flak for keeping the borders closed, there are “millions” in the state who fully support the tough stance. Why then should their wishes be overridden by mostly interstate journalists, commentators & politicians? Should a major outbreak of Covid be forced on the Sunshine State, Australia will definitely have a new prime minister next year.

The quality of our governance would improve dramatically if we imposed some access limitations on paid lobbyists. Make it so lobbyists can only speak to the MPs for their home addresses’ electorates and the Senators for those addresses’ states. That way they won’t cluster around our parliamentary precincts putting outsized influence on our representatives.

Watching the alt-media videos of the huge crowds of unionists protesting lockdowns in Melbourne, I’m struck by how many more “far-right whitesupremacist freedom lovers” there are than “far-left anti-white climate luvvies.”

Re: “Townsville alarm at Covid call” (CP, 1/10). That’s happened before when a Covid-infected Qld Health Covid ward clerk spent a week in Townsville. Nothing happened. It failed to spread as forecast. People are waking up that the reality is very different to the hype. Trust in govt has hit all-time lows. Joanne, Manunda

I’m sorry but no committee with “social” goals led by a Labor socialist is going to reduce disadvantage in South Cairns or anywhere else (CP, 1/10). No version of socialism has improved anything for anyone ever. Look at Nth Korea v Sth Korea for a long-term test of socialism v capitalism. Put a realist in charge of the committee who will slash the socialist regulatory state and Sth Cairns has a far better chance.

You colonials need to understand that if you can cancel a submarine deal worth billions with France because it suits you … then the English can cancel a series of bloody cricket, no matter what the prize is, because it suits them. YEAGER DOGG, CAIRNS NORTH

Cairns Hospital staff are protesting overwork even without Covid problems. Michael Healy – you’re the MP for the Cairns Hospital. How many beds have been added since March 2020 when we stayed home to flatten the curve and allow hospital capacity to be increased? How many additional staff were recruited? Why is Qld Health intent on driving out 11% of its staff over unlawful vaccine mandates? C’mon, Michael answers, please.
