1904 RENE LACOSTE French tennis player

Nicknamed “the Crocodile”, Lacoste won seven Grand Slam singles titles and was ranked the world’s best player in 1926 and 1927. He is the creator of the Lacoste tennis shirt, which he introduced in 1929.

1925 MEDGAR EVERS American civil rights activist

A decorated US Army combat veteran, Evers was a civil rights activist and the National Associatio­n for the Advancemen­t of Colored

People’s first field secretary in Mississipp­i. He was murdered in his home in 1963 by a member of the White Citzens’ Council.

1929 IMELDA MARCOS Filipino politician

Marcos was First Lady of the Philippine­s for 20 years, during which time she and husband, Ferdinand Marcos, stole billions of pesos from the people. They amassed a personal fortune estimated to be worth somewhere between US$5–10bn.

1947 LARRY DAVID American screenwrit­er

David and Jerry Seinfeld created the sitcom Seinfeld, for which he was head writer and executive producer for the first seven seasons. David also created Curb Your Enthusiasm, in which he starred as a semifictio­nalised version of himself.

1956 JERRY HALL American model

Hall began modelling in the 1970s and became one of the most sought after models in the world. She went into acting and appeared in the 1989 film Batman.

1975 DANIEL KOWALSKI Australian swimmer

At the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Kowalski became the first person in 92 years to win medals in the 200m, 400m and 1500m individual freestyle events. He won gold at the Sydney Olympics for the 4x200m freestyle relay.

1990 MARGOT ROBBIE

Australian actor Queensland-born Robbie

started her acting career in Neighbours (2008–2011) and went on to earn nomination­s for two Academy Awards, three Golden Globes and five BAFTAs. Her film credits include I, Tonya, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and Bombshell.
