Re “Reoffending of Cairns kids in care blamed on inadequate support” - so the parents paid by taxpayers to care for their own kids failed, the state agencies taxpayers paid to care for the failed parents’ kids also failed, the kids themselves are paid by taxpayers but also failed to care for themselves. I see the problem. It’s the taxpayers’ money. Let’s take that away and see if things get better or worse.

The Pope has called for the end of laws targeting the LGBTQ community. While I appreciate the statement, the fact remains, most of the hatred, vitriol and violence aimed at this community is from people, including politicians, who espouse to be people of faith. This element is represented by world leaders in Russia, China, the U.S., Iran, Afghanistan, and many African and Asian states. In fact you don’t need to look to far to see the haters here in Australia. Just more words, devoid of action.
