Municipali­ties across the region are preparing for a broad range of Australia Day activities tomorrow.

Apart from shire councils organising official civic activities, various clubs and organisati­ons have also planned events and celebratio­ns. Official municipal celebratio­ns and ceremonies include:

Ararat Rural City

Ararat: Noon, official shire ceremony, noon, Alexandra Oval Community Centre. Outdoor cinema, 8.30pm, Alexandra Gardens.

Ararat, Willaura, Lake Bolac: 2pm, pool parties at Willaura, Lake Bolac and Ararat outdoor pools.

Hindmarsh Shire

Rainbow: 7.30am, breakfast celebratio­n, guest speaker, at the Lion’s Den in Taverner Street.

Jeparit: 9am, breakfast celebratio­n and ceremony, Menzies Square.

Dimboola: 11am, morning tea celebratio­n and ceremony, Old Shire Hall Forecourt in Lloyd Street. Family night at Dimboola Recreation Reserve from 5pm.

Nhill: Noon, lunch celebratio­n and ceremony, Goldsworth­y Park.

Horsham Rural City

Horsham: 7am, breakfast, ceremony, awards, guest speakers, Horsham Soundshell, Sawyer Park.

Brimpaen: 8am, breakfast, ceremony, guest speaker, Brimpaen Hall.

Natimuk: 10.30am, ceremony, guest speaker, refreshmen­ts, community centre.

Dadswells Bridge: 11am, ceremony, guest speaker, refreshmen­ts, Dadswells Bridge Hall.

Northern Grampians Shire

Stawell: 2pm, free pool party, Stawell Leisure Complex. 6.30pm, official ceremony and family activities followed by fireworks at Cato Park.

St Arnaud: 8am, breakfast ceremony and morning tea in Market Square.

West Wimmera Shire

Apsley: 8am, breakfast, Apsley District 8s cricket, ceremony, recreation reserve. Dergholm: 9.45am, Dergholm Hall. Edenhope: 8am, breakfast celebratio­ns, flag raising, guest speakers, Henley Park.

Goroke: 8am, breakfast celebratio­n, flagraisin­g ceremony, guest speakers, morning tea, Goroke Memorial Hall.

Harrow: 11.30am, flag-raising ceremony, lunch, Johnny Mullagh Reserve.

Kaniva: 8am, breakfast celebratio­n, flagraisin­g ceremony, guest speakers, Kaniva Swimming Pool, donation entry.

Minimay: 9am, breakfast with gold coin donation, ceremony, Minimay Store.

Yarriambia­ck Shire

Warracknab­eal: 8am, breakfast celebratio­n, morning tea, Australia Day awards, musical entertainm­ent, children’s activities, guest speaker.

Minyip: 8am, breakfast celebratio­n and guest speaker, Main Street Town Square.

Hopetoun: 7.30am, breakfast celebratio­n and guest speaker, Memorial Hall.

Woomelang: 8am, Breakfast celebratio­n and guest speaker, Memorial Hall.

Beulah: 8am, includes flag-pole stroll, breakfast celebratio­n and guest speaker. Starting at Beulah Post Office.

Murtoa: 8am, breakfast celebratio­n, Murtoa pool. Gold coin donation.

Wallup: 8am, breakfast celebratio­n and guest speaker, Wallup Hall.

Rupanyup: 8am, breakfast celebratio­n, guest speaker, Rupanyup Memorial Park.
