Mu­nic­i­pal­i­ties across the re­gion are pre­par­ing for a broad range of Aus­tralia Day ac­tiv­i­ties to­mor­row.

Apart from shire coun­cils or­gan­is­ing of­fi­cial civic ac­tiv­i­ties, var­i­ous clubs and or­gan­i­sa­tions have also planned events and cel­e­bra­tions. Of­fi­cial mu­nic­i­pal cel­e­bra­tions and cer­e­monies in­clude:

Ararat Ru­ral City

Ararat: Noon, of­fi­cial shire cer­e­mony, noon, Alexan­dra Oval Com­mu­nity Cen­tre. Out­door cinema, 8.30pm, Alexan­dra Gar­dens.

Ararat, Wil­laura, Lake Bo­lac: 2pm, pool par­ties at Wil­laura, Lake Bo­lac and Ararat out­door pools.

Hind­marsh Shire

Rain­bow: 7.30am, break­fast cel­e­bra­tion, guest speaker, at the Lion’s Den in Tav­erner Street.

Jeparit: 9am, break­fast cel­e­bra­tion and cer­e­mony, Men­zies Square.

Dim­boola: 11am, morn­ing tea cel­e­bra­tion and cer­e­mony, Old Shire Hall Fore­court in Lloyd Street. Fam­ily night at Dim­boola Recre­ation Re­serve from 5pm.

Nhill: Noon, lunch cel­e­bra­tion and cer­e­mony, Goldswor­thy Park.

Hor­sham Ru­ral City

Hor­sham: 7am, break­fast, cer­e­mony, awards, guest speak­ers, Hor­sham Sound­shell, Sawyer Park.

Brim­paen: 8am, break­fast, cer­e­mony, guest speaker, Brim­paen Hall.

Na­timuk: 10.30am, cer­e­mony, guest speaker, re­fresh­ments, com­mu­nity cen­tre.

Dadswells Bridge: 11am, cer­e­mony, guest speaker, re­fresh­ments, Dadswells Bridge Hall.

North­ern Grampians Shire

Stawell: 2pm, free pool party, Stawell Leisure Com­plex. 6.30pm, of­fi­cial cer­e­mony and fam­ily ac­tiv­i­ties fol­lowed by fire­works at Cato Park.

St Ar­naud: 8am, break­fast cer­e­mony and morn­ing tea in Mar­ket Square.

West Wim­mera Shire

Ap­s­ley: 8am, break­fast, Ap­s­ley District 8s cricket, cer­e­mony, recre­ation re­serve. Dergholm: 9.45am, Dergholm Hall. Eden­hope: 8am, break­fast cel­e­bra­tions, flag rais­ing, guest speak­ers, Hen­ley Park.

Goroke: 8am, break­fast cel­e­bra­tion, fla­grais­ing cer­e­mony, guest speak­ers, morn­ing tea, Goroke Me­mo­rial Hall.

Har­row: 11.30am, flag-rais­ing cer­e­mony, lunch, Johnny Mul­lagh Re­serve.

Kaniva: 8am, break­fast cel­e­bra­tion, fla­grais­ing cer­e­mony, guest speak­ers, Kaniva Swim­ming Pool, do­na­tion en­try.

Mur­toa: 8am, break­fast cel­e­bra­tion, Mur­toa pool. Gold coin do­na­tion.

Wallup: 8am, break­fast cel­e­bra­tion and guest speaker, Wallup Hall.

Ru­pa­nyup: 8am, break­fast cel­e­bra­tion, guest speaker, Ru­pa­nyup Me­mo­rial Park.

POOL PARTY: To­rah Pick­er­ing, 5, makes the most of a hot sum­mer at Stawell Leisure Com­plex. A free pool party at the cen­tre will start Aus­tralia Day fam­ily cel­e­bra­tions in Stawell.
