Dream showroom for Schiers

-

Adecade-long dream will become a reality on Friday when Schier Cabinet Makers officially opens its Horsham showroom.

Factory manager Barrie Lanyon said staff were excited to see their hard work come to fruition.

“The showroom has been sitting here dormant for close on 10 years, but with the workload we’ve had, it never developed,” he said.

“We’ve changed direction slightly and now we’re concentrating more on our local domestic market.

“We’ve put the hard yards into getting the showroom up and running for that market and we’re thrilled with the results.”

Mr Lanyon said Schier Cabinet Makers had traded out of the Horsham branch for about eight years.

“We were just trading out of the little back section,” he said.

“We only had two small kitchen displays.

“The front part, the whole box and dice, has only been done in the past four months.

“We’ve got a range of static displays, which will be updated over time as trends change.

“We also have a range of wardrobes and Finesta Aluminium System products.

“There’s everything in there, from – for want of a better word – trade-type kitchens, through to top-end stone with bells and whistles.

“There’s something to suit everyone, really – that’s what we’re aiming for.”

Mr Lanyon said he had received positive feedback from people visiting the showroom in the lead-up to the official opening.

“People have heard about us on the radio and by word of mouth,” he said. “The response has been great. “All the reps are telling us this is the biggest kitchen showroom between Ballarat and Adelaide.”

Mr Lanyon said a range of reps would be on hand on Friday.

“Laminex Industries will be here cooking a sausage sizzle,” he said.

“They will have their laminate and Laminex reps here as well.

“We’ve also got Lincoln Sentry and Blum Australia reps coming.

“They’re all about the technical, flash new draw runners and all the bells and whistles.”

Member for Lowan Emma Kealy will open the showroom alongside owner Malcom Schier.

Mr Lanyon encouraged people attend the opening.

“Whether you’re looking for something specific or just want to browse, everyone is welcome,” he said.

“We have colour samples for people to take away. They can mix and match samples with their tiles and paint colours and all those sorts of things.”

Celebrations for Schiers Cabinet to Makers’ Horsham showroom opening will kick off at 10am, with official proceedings from noon.

The showroom is open from 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday, with other times by appointment.

“Thanks to all our trade suppliers, Laminex, Lincoln Sentry, Cabinetmakers Choice, Blum Australia, HDG, Beaumont Tiles and everyone else who has helped along the way,” Mr Lanyon said.
