Money for new equipment

-

An East Grampians Health Service Ark Toy and Activity Centre Auxiliary annual movie afternoon at Ararat’s Astor Cinema raised $2000 for new equipment.

Patrons watched the movie ‘Jackie’, followed by lucky ticket draws and home-made afternoon tea.

Auxiliary president Kaye Chamings said the event was successful, both socially and financially.

She also thanked, on behalf of the auxiliary members, everyone who attended the event for their generosity and support. She also acknowledged the continued support of Astor Cinema managers Barry and Cheryl Byron and John O’meara.

“The Ark Toy and Activity Centre will continue to purchase items that will give enjoyment, stimulate, enhance and support the needs of its members, both young or elderly,” Mrs Chamings said.

“It is our commitment to source and supply the best products, equipment and good toys with the money raised.”

The Ark Toy and Activity Centre is available for use by children and families with special needs, provides a meeting space for mother and children groups and is a place for early-learning centres, kindergartens and schools to support special needs children and senior members of the community.

The centre is open each Wednesday from 10am to noon. People seeking further information can phone 5352 9453 on Wednesdays.
