Mcdonald, Kloss in a knockout

-

Warracknabeal trainer Les Mcdonald returned to the winners circle at last Monday’s Mildura meeting.

The Mcdonald yard had its honest performer Kloss lining up in a 1000-metre scamper, at benchmark 58 level, with Ben Claridge riding.

The four-year-old was able to box seat off a strong tempo, and got a good run in transit.

Kloss was the despised outsider with punters at $25, however, was travelling like the odds-on favourite on the turn for home. When balanced, the daughter of Stratum found clear galloping room and powered her way to the line, scoring by a long neck.

The win was Kloss’s second; both have come since arriving at Les Mcdonald’s yard, after being purchased by stable clients.

We’re so lucky

Telopea Downs trainer Darryl Dodson also tasted success at Mildura, courtesy of his restricted class stayer, We’re So Lucky.

Jordan Childs took We’re So Lucky straight to the lead in the benchmark 58 2000-metre event, dictating the race beautifully.

The Lookin’ At Lucky four-year-old was travelling strongly before the turn, and gave a kick in the straight.

We’re So Lucky proved too good for his rivals, dashing away for a two-length win.

We’re So lucky is developing into a handy little money-spinner, having won two of her last three races.
