WE ARARAT

The historic regional city of Ararat sits at a pivotal junction between the Wimmera, Pyrenees and Western District and has long had a reputation as the south-east gateway to the Grampians.

It was one of the reasons Chinese fortune hunters, while trekking from South Australia to the Ballarat goldfields in the distant past, founded the city.

The We Love Ararat shopping spree returns on Friday as part of a concerted effort to encourage Ararat district people to support their home-town businesses.

Ararat businesses have again jumped on board the concept and will offer up plenty of bargains.

There is also an added incentive for shoppers visiting participating businesses to win $250 shopping vouchers.
